How do I get help?

Visit the FJC located at 126 E. Nueva, 2nd Floor (across the south end of the Bexar County Courthouse). A professional will meet with you to discuss the services available, and you may choose the services that best meet your needs.

Where do I park?

Parking validation is available for the Bexar County Parking Garage, located on Flores @ Nueva (SW corner). Parking is limited to those receiving services at the Family Justice Center, on the date the service is rendered.

Do I need an appointment?

Initial intake assessments do not require appointments. Various partners provide walk-in services. However, some services may require appointments.

Can I bring my children with me?

Yes, please bring your children. We provide free childcare and counseling services for child witnesses of domestic violence.

May I bring a friend with me for support?

Yes, you may bring a friend or family member for support. However, we have limited seating available. Victims receiving services will serve as priority.

How much does it cost?

All services provided at the FJC are free to victims of domestic violence.

May I start the process of filing for a protective order?

Yes, we have legal professionals on-site to investigate your case and assist in drafting documents for a Protective Order. Those who qualify for a protective order will have their case filed with a District Court Judge who has the sole authority to grant or deny the order.

What are the objectives of the Family Justice Center?

Through a coordinated collaboration of community partners, the Family Justice Center will:

  • Provide co-located and coordinated services easily accessible to victims of domestic violence;
  • Offer criminal and civil legal assistance; and
  • Break the cycle of violence by providing services that promote long term healing for victims of family violence and their children.
