DECEMBER TRAINING
December Training: Karen Williams (United Way San Antonio)
United Way San Antonio presented an informational training on Friday, December 12, 2008 to staff and partners at the Family Justice Center. Ms. Williams registered and informed staff of the resources available through United Way and B.E.X.A.R. Necessities of San Antonio.

NOVEMBER TRAINING
November Training: Pamela Taylor (Executive Director Dress for Success)
Dress For Success San Antonio will present information on the resources they provide to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network and career development tools to victims of crime. They are now an on-site partner and in the Dream Center every Wednesday.

OCTOBER TRAINING
October Training: Robert Duncan (CPS Unit Supervisor)
The Domestic Violence Unit of Child Protective Services housed at the Family Justice Center will speak, in detail, about how investigations are conducted, what happens after an investigation, the legal issues that surround their work, and what fact scenarios should lead to a referral to them for help and services.

SEPTEMBER TRAINING
September Training: Officer James E. Blake (UHS Security), Officer Donald Statz (UHS Security), Walter Moss (DA), Ben Esquivel (SAPD), and Yolanda Casas (SAPD).
The Security Team at the Family Justice Center will present new security procedures at the Center that will include an educational session followed by live simulations with Code Green (combative person) Code White (Armed person) and Code Red (Evacuation). Training is mandatory for all on-site partners.

JULY TRAINING
July Training: Richard Loza (Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid)
The civil legal services team at the Center will discuss the importance of identifying legal issues for referral, issues to spot for protective orders and the many different types of legal services that TRLA can provide in addition to family law matters.

The San Antonio Police Department presents information about the critical importance of a Crisis Response Team (CRT) and Perpetrator Management.
