House Bill 121
With the passage of Texas House Bill 121, each school district in Texas must adopt and implement a dating violence policy. In order to ensure compliance, schools should provide education to their students in the following areas:
- Defining dating violence in a dating violence policy
- Safety planning
- Obtaining protective orders and establishing their enforcement
- School-based alternatives to protective orders
- Training for teachers and administrators
- Counseling for affected students
- Awareness education for students and parents.
